Pycnostachys urticifolia

Common Name: Hedgehog Sage

$10.00

The colours of the flowers on this plant are the most intense electric blue!!! They flower during late Autumn and Winter and are a beacon for bees at that time of year. The sage green aromatic foliage can be rather sparse so it is best planted at the back of the border. The flowers are held high so are still easily seen. I tip prune mine through the flowering season to bring on more flushes then cut them back back hard in late spring. Will require protection from even light frost.

Flowering Time: Autumn Winter
Flowering Colour: Blue
Position: Sun or part shade
